Sonar play modelling (SPM) is concerned with the prophecy of quantitative measures of sonar consummation, such as probability of detection. No books take been published on this subject, yet, since the 3rd edition of Urick’s classic work 25 years ago and in such a manner Dr Ainslie’s book will occupy a much-needed gap in the market. Currently, up-to-date information be able to only be found, in different forms and repeatedly with conflicting information, in various journals, colloquy and textbook publications.
